That’s what everyone says, and that’s what a lot of people believe. But this isn’t true, there’s so many things in life you can achieve without receiving high marks on a maths test.

While I can understand how it may seem like the end of the world to know that maths just isn’t for you, there are so many courses after 12th commerce without maths that you can pursue, and so many different and well-paying careers you can build! Let’s have a look at a few of these down below.

Table of Contents

  • 2. Bachelor’s in Business Administration
  • 3. Bachelor’s in Management Studies
  • 4. Bachelor’s in Mass Media
  • 5. Digital Marketing
  • 6. Digital design
  • 7. Coding

1. Bachelor’s in Commerce

The quintessential commerce degree, it goes without saying that it would be included in an article about courses after 12th commerce without maths. This degree enables you to further your education in commerce and equip you with a working knowledge of commercial aspects like finance, investments, banking, management etc.

The only downside about this course after 12th without maths is that a lot of its content is very cursory– it does not offer in-depth knowledge on any topic. For this, we would recommend specialised course alternatives.

Top institutes: Christ University (Bengaluru), Loyola College (Chennai), Lady Shri Ram College of Commerce (Delhi), Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics (Mumbai), Shri Ram College of Commerce (Delhi)

2. Bachelor’s in Business Administration

Is your dream to run your own business? Or maybe you want to occupy a management-level position at a corporate office? In either case, a BBA is one of your best bets. It is like a junior-sized version of a Master’s in Business Administration, and similar to it, it offers specialisations in the fields of Marketing, Finance etc. While Finance requires mathematics to be a compulsory subject, other specialisations do not, so this would be a great option if you’re looking for courses after 12th commerce without maths.

Top institutes: Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Mumbai), Christ University (Bengaluru), Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies (Pune), Amity Global Business School (Noida), KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce (Mumbai)

3. Bachelor’s in Management Studies

While this course and a BBA are often confused as one and the same, they are not. A BMS degree is offered by government-aided institutions, while BBAs are generally offered only by private colleges. This often makes a BMS degree much more cost-effective, between the two, especially if you will not be looking for a job directly after graduation and will be looking to study further or start your own business.

Fair warning: This is not fully one of the courses after 12th commerce without Maths, as maths is a compulsory subject in the first year of college, but is entirely dropped in the second and third years. However, no previous math base is needed in order to be eligible for the course. Moreover, the mathematics is pretty elementary, covering the bases of mostly business economics and financial maths.

BMS, just like BBA, also offers specialisations. However, BMS specialisations are limited to only Marketing and Finance, while BBA degrees tend to have more variety depending on the college.

Top Institutes: Jai Hind College (Mumbai), St. Xavier’s College (Kolkata), Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics (Mumbai), Mulund College of Commerce (Mumbai)

Admittedly, that is the aim of digital marketing, but is achieved in such roundabout and fascinating ways that, in many aspects, digital marketing can be compared to a chessboard.

It involves activities such as content writing (writing website and social media content for brands), search engine optimization (ensuring said content and the brand’s website in general ranks on search engine results pages and is visible to consumers), social media management, content creation, email marketing, website design, and so much more exciting stuff!

While there isn’t yet an undergraduate course offered by Indian government institutes, many private institutes offer degrees in the same, that are often much more fun than college degrees and offer better placement opportunities.

Digital design is basically a version of graphic designing that involves branding design for a company digitally. For example, corporate design or logo design. It also includes certain aspects of user interface and user experience. This is an incredibly creative field, but it does take a lot of learning!
